In 2022, the Second Year students in CBS James's St. created a digital book on the history of the school. Assisted by the school librarian Lorna, teacher Kylie Hill and their team, they put together a comprehensive overview of the past and present and are to be congratulated for their efforts in producing such a fine book. A must read for all past pupils !
___________________________________________ The Story of The Jambo Team of '59 ______________________________________________________________________________________ Known as "The Golden Era" in football, 1959 was a memorable year for St. James's CBS and Scoil San Seamus.
Trained and prepared to a high standard by dedicated mentors, the "Jambo Team Of '59" won the Junior Championship Clanna Gael Cup in 1958 and went on to capture the Senior Championship Sweet Afton Cup in 1959.
Unusually both finals were played in 1959, this occurred because the new Hogan Stand in Croke Park was being built and the Junior Final was deferred pending it's completion. However, the project ran over and eventually the Junior Final was played in March 1959 at O'Toole Park with the Senior Final played in Dec.1959 at Croke Park.
This Website is dedicated to those who gave so freely of their time during this glorious sporting period in Jambo.
